As a 501c3 non-profit arts organization, VALA relies on the generosity of volunteers to be able to do all the great work that we do. Volunteering with VALA is a great opportunity to use your skills to support your local artists and organization that brings art to your community.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Redmond Arts Festival – Friday, August 15th –  Sunday, August 17th

VALA is seeking volunteers for the Redmond Arts Festival at Redmond Town Center.  If interested please email: jfklambert@valaeastside.org .

VALA Art Center Steward

VALA is seeking volunteers to act as Art Center Stewards and help us with the daily operations of the VALA Art Center. As a VALA Art Center Steward, you will have the opportunity to use your skills, connect with artists and the public while helping operate this very special community public art venue in Redmond. VALA is looking for volunteers who are passionate about art, enjoy interacting with the public and feel committed to raising awareness about art in our community.

Responsibilities include:
-       Opening and closing the center.
-       Greeting guests as they arrive.
-       Distributing information about VALA and our programming.
-       Familiarizing yourself with the artwork on display and directing visitors to artist contact information.
-       Other opportunities may become available.


VALA Program Planner

Do you want to volunteer for a specific event or art installation coming up and be a part of making the action happen at the VALA Art Center?  Become a VALA Program Planner and plan and run artist receptions, VALA’s Artist to Artist series, and VALA’s Artist Studios while you meet and get to know other artists, their inspiration, and process.  Help honor artists and their artwork now by supporting local artists and connecting the community to art in these very meaningful ways.


Lucia Neare’s Theatrical Wonders

Lucia Neare’s upcoming show Recipe for Love takes place at four o’clock on May 3, 2014 at Redmond’s City Hall Campus. Neare aims to inspire “generations of creative, spirited thinkers” with her dream-scape performances that will be sure to touch an audience of all ages. Neare’s performances include upwards of hundreds of performers, giant set pieces, larger-than-life costumes, and live orchestra and dance. In order to make these performances possible, Lucia and her team of artists need your help! The company offers all sorts of volunteer opportunities from gold leaf painters, sculptors/makers/builders and organizers to assistant stage managers.
