BECOME A VALANTEER

VALA is seeking volunteer Art Stewards to help us with the daily operations of VALA. As a VALA Art Steward, you will have the opportunity to use your skills, connect with artists and the public while helping operate this very special community public art venue in Redmond. VALA is looking for volunteers who are passionate about art, enjoy interacting with the public, and feel committed to raising awareness about art in our community.
As an Art Steward you may:

  • Open and close the Art Center.

  • Greet guests as they arrive.

  • Distribute information about VALA and our programming.

  • Familiarize yourself with the artwork on display and direct visitors to artist contact information.

  • Other opportunities as they become available.

Join Our Arts Festival Volunteer Team!

Special Opportunity! VALA Eastside wants YOU to help spotlight local artists and build community—all in just a couple of hours per shift. Fun, flexible, and impactful! The Redmond Arts Festival is our biggest event of the year, held annually in July at Redmond Town Center.

 

2026 Redmond Arts Festival, July 31-August 2—All along NE 74th Street

Thursday, July 30, 5–8 pm: Load in

Friday, July 31, 12-8 pm: Open Hours

Saturday, August 1, 12-8 pm: Open Hours

Sunday, August 2, 12-6 pm: Open Hours

How You’ll Help (2- to 4-hr shifts):

  • Artist booth setup (Thu eve/Fri am)

  • Prep & hand out artist Welcome/Goodie bags

  • Capture festival moments (photos/selfies with artists)

  • Staff VALA Info booth & Community Art Project

  • Maintain Volunteer Rest Area

  • Supervise Kids’ Chalk Art Area

  • Cover artist breaks (5-min or 3-min)

  • Distribute water bottles twice daily
