Kids’ Art Workshop: Self-Portraits Inspired by the Masters
FREE DROP-IN WORKSHOP!
Saturday, November 15 | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

 

VALA Art Center, 8020 161st Ave NE #104, Redmond, WA 98052

As part of VALA’s Kids’ Self-Portraits Exhibition, young artists are invited to explore identity and imagination through a hands-on mixed media workshop.

 

We’ll take inspiration from famous self-portraits throughout art history, discovering how artists expressed who they are—and how we can do the same.  

 

Children will experiment with color, line, and expression to make portraits that reflect their inner world.
All materials provided. Parent supervision required. Drop-in participation welcome!

 

NOTE: Adults are welcome to sit and draw if they wish!

Holiday Postcard Making for Your Loved Ones
Dec. 6th, 4-5:30 pm

This workshop invites the community to personalize and paint holiday-themed postcards that can be sent to loved ones. Each participant will receive a pre-sketched postcard to color and decorate, ensuring accessibility for all ages and skill levels. The participants will have various pre-sketched postcard designs to pick from and will have access to an envelope to carry or post their masterpiece.

 

Tealight Coasters with Gems
Dec. 6th, 5:30-7 pm[

Craft decorative tea holder coasters using transparent film, gems, and embellishments. Participants will design their coasters with pre-drawn stencils, combining artistic flair with functional use. Each participant will leave with a custom-crafted tea holder coaster along with a tea light candle that is both a functional accessory and a piece of art.
